Theragun PRO Review: World's Greatest Percussion Massager?

I was excited to try the Theragun PRO because I had heard great things about the line. And since this particular product comes in at $600, I had fairly high expectations. 

Upon receipt of the percussion massager, I was not disappointed. The carry bag it comes in appears to be exceptionally well made from the fabric to the stitching. 

My Theragun PRO came with 2 batteries, a charger, and 6 different attachments for added diversity. The attachments included with every Theragun are:

• Cone
• Dampener
• Supersoft
• Standard Ball
• Thumb
• Wedge

Everything was well packed in the bag, which boosted my confidence in the quality of the product line.

The first thing I did was to download the Therabody app on my phone so that I could use it with the bluetooth option. I’m so happy I did because it made the overall operation and usability of the machine that much more optimal.

The app helped run me through different ways to use the machine and the attachments. After an incredibly long kickboxing session, I used it to help me determine what needed to be adjusted to get the best results. 

I did this by adjusting the pressure, swapping out attachment tips, rotating the arm, and switching locations on my body. It may sound like a lot, but it actually didn’t take very long to get all of the kinks worked out.

I have tried different percussion massagers in the past, so I had an idea as to what I should expect with the Theragun. What I didn’t account for was that this machine is professional strength. So it was a lot stronger than any other machine I’ve ever used before. This meant that I had to give it a bit more time for my body to get used to it.

But after I got used to it and figured out how to properly use everything, this thing was like magic. My wife and I enjoyed using the “relax” routine on the app at night with the super soft attachment to help unwind before bed. 

Overall, we loved the Theragun PRO and continue to use it regularly.

Theragun by Therabody is a product that appears to be extremely high quality. I noticed that every attachment made a satisfying click each time I easily put a new one on. The buttons seemed to be strongly made and would appear to be hard to break.

None of the parts on the machine, nor the machine itself were exceedingly heavy. But, everything seemed to be really well made at the same time.

I was pleased with the quality of every aspect of the Theragun and expect it to last well beyond the company’s 2-year warranty. It was reassuring to me to see how many patents they have on all of their products.

I was happy to see that their TheraOne CBD line is developed, manufactured, and packaged in Colorado. This line is also independently tested 4 different times and then sent out to an independent third-party lab to confirm the results. All results for the products in this line are posted directly on their website via Certificates of Analysis.

This way you can see exactly what you’re using or ingesting. I wish more companies would be this transparent with their products.

While the brand is exceptionally transparent with this line, I was hard-pressed to find as much transparency with the other lines they produce. What I would like to see regarding the other lines for transparency are:

• Materials used
• Where materials are sourced
• Where materials are manufactured
• Quality assurance regulations, if any
• Any certifications for sources and manufacturing facilities

If the brand could include this information for all of the other products they manufacture, it would instill more confidence in their products, from my perspective. Anything that falls into the medical device genre should have much more transparency as well as quality certifications to prove the assurance and efficacy of their products.

However, even with those pieces of information missing, I feel this product is a high-quality product meant to last quite some time.

While the price point is pretty darn steep for a percussion massager, it can be well worth it on many accounts. The quality of the Theragun appears to be really high level and the warranty seems to back that up.

The functionality of this device goes above and beyond any other percussion massager I’ve ever run across. The corresponding app and bluetooth only help make this product even more usable and enjoyable.

And if you want to break down the cost of it all, this device is still a lot more cost effective than getting personal massages. The Theragun will pay for itself after 4-5 hour long personal massages. For something I can keep for years and use together with my spouse, I think it’s well worth the upfront cost.
