Now I have the opportunity to share my favorite aspect of these pans: the exceptional nonstick coating. Although it has been mentioned multiple times before, it cannot be emphasized enough how truly remarkable this coating is. Despite its slightly misleading name, as it does not consist of real granite, it does possess a granite-like appearance.

Instead, the coating is crafted from porcelain enamel that has been fused to the aluminum surface at an impressive temperature of 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This process creates a glass-like surface that is highly nonstick and non-reactive.

According to the manufacturer, this surface is completely nontoxic and free from harmful substances such as PFOA, lead, and cadmium. Therefore, you can rest assured that these pans will not release any harmful chemicals into your food. If you are seeking a safe alternative to Teflon, these pans are an excellent choice.

The handles of these pans are made from Bakelite and feature a wood texture finish. While some sets come with ordinary handles, there are also options available with beautifully designed, organically shaped handles that I am eager to try in the future!

Now, what exactly is Bakelite? Bakelite is a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin renowned for its poor conductivity and impressive heat resistance. These qualities make it an ideal material for pot handles. Regardless of how long the pans have been on the stove, the handles should remain cool to the touch and provide a comfortable grip.

Use and Versatility

Personally, I would love to see a large stock pot added to the set, as it would be ideal for making soups and boiling pasta. Aside from this missing item, I believe this set offers everything you need to cook a variety of cuisines using different cooking techniques.

If you handle them gently, avoid burning them, and use silicone spatulas, they will last much longer compared to if you mistreat them.
